TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT

Main Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to the vessel on a daily basis.
• Ensures all technical documentation is available and up to date.
• Prepares technical specifications for repairs and modifications onboard the vessel.
• Prepares budget estimates for vessel repairs, dry dock periods and modifications.
• Prepares specific work instructions in compliance with the companies HSE requirements for the repairs and modifications and follows up on implementation of same.
• Ensures timely completion of the repairs as per specification and or engineering drawings.
• Assists vessel procurement and supports the vessel buyer with technical details of required materials.
• Maintains the vessel Planned Maintenance System up to date and checks it’s functioning and completion of the tasks.
• Responsible to maintain the vessel in class and coordinates, organizes the class surveys in a timely manner.
• Ensures the correct level of spares and consumables are maintained onboard the vessel.
• Coordinates and monitors the activities of sub contractors working onboard the vessel.
• Ensures that the vessel maintenance and equipment complies with the Class requirements.
• Manages dry-docking of the vessel and or major repairs.
• Assists the Asset Manager with upgrades and ensures improvements are made in accordance with the requirements.
• Responsible for the implementation of HSE Plan at work site, hazard and risk management in accordance with companies requirements.
• Other task deemed necessary as required within his own capability and field of expertise.

Competence Required

• Proficient in English, with good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
