SYSTEMS ANALYST, PE & OPERATIONS

To provide high standards in petroleum engineering data management expertise and applications support associated to the subsurface user community while being an active participant in the Data Management (DM) community. |
Responsibilities
- Develop a good working knowledge of Data Management business procedures and practices and standards.
- Data loading and management for responsible geotechnical applications, in accordance with relevant procedures and standards.
- Creating, updating or archiving applications and/or data files as requested, and assisting users in the manipulation of data within applications files/databases.
- Verifying that project data meets quality criteria and carrying out periodic checks on the completeness, validity and quality of the data within the project data store.
- Provision of troubleshooting and user assistance to application users, including advising users on good data management practices such as version control, deleting log files, etc.
- Develop a working knowledge of the applications portfolio management processes.
- Work with the other application support teams to provide a seamless service to the EP Solutions subsurface community.
- Contribute to the testing of new products and upgrades in the EP Solutions portfolio.
- Be prepared to escalate and work on complex support issues with users and in-house IT groups.
- Work directly with vendors identified as being part of the solution to design and develop a seamless capability.
- Encouraging internal knowledge sharing through the sharing of skills acquired/used and lessons learnt.
Skills

Broad knowledge across main industry standard applications and databases emphasizing functional support, system analysis, workflow advice, troubleshooting issues, data loading and management: |
- Data standards and workflow experience.
- Strong understanding of database design and concepts.
- Cross application/platform data migration techniques and procedures.
- Data exchange formats and media management - appropriate uses.
- Project creation within E&P applications and Project and data archiving and transferring.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or engineering (or significant industry experience in a similar role)
Interpersonal Competencies:
- Capable of creating and meeting project goals
- Ability to work in a small team environment
- Ability to liaise with users
- Ability to plan and meet targets and goals
- Proactive disposition
- Good interpersonal communication traits
Experience: essential
- Experience in business requirement analysis and conversion to database design.
- Hands-on experience in database program design and development including development of methods for extract, transform, load operations
- Experience in project implementation or consultancy in the E & P industry especially data management.
Experience: advantage
- Clear understanding of E&P data types including well data, reservoir and production data.
- Experience in supporting one or more of these applications:-
- Schlumberger application suite (Petrel, Eclipse)
- Petroleum Experts (MBAL, PROSPER, GAP)
- Production allocation and reservoir surveillance systems
